Jeffrey M. Levy
President and Chief Executive Officer


Jeff Levy is a seasoned business industry executive with a demonstrated record of developing and expanding construction industry enterprises. He has served on RailWorks’ board of directors since 2004 and in 2005 was named president and CEO. He previously served as the president and CEO of EMCOR Group, Inc., a $4.5 billion, Fortune 500 company with 26,000 employees. He played a major role in building EMCOR, expanding the business from $1.65 billion to $4.5 billion through a combination of organic growth, strategic alliances and acquisitions. He is a licensed mechanical engineer with more than 30 years experience in the engineering, design and construction of commercial, industrial and transportation infrastructure facilities.

John August

Executive Vice President
John August joined RailWorks in 2005 with extensive operating and financial management experience in the construction industry.  He most recently served as vice president of operations for EMCOR Group, Inc., a $4.5 billion, Fortune 500 company with 26,000 employees. There he was responsible for mechanical construction operations with combined revenues of about $500 million. His reorganization efforts resulted in improved cash flows and across-the-board operating improvements. Prior to EMCOR, John held management positions at Brennan Construction Company, Singer Sewing Machine Company and with the United States Air Force.

Michele Bodnar
Vice President, Human Resources
Michelle Bodnar joined RailWorks in 2007, bringing more than 20 years
experience in all facets of human resources. Over the course of her career,
she has held leadership roles in diverse service companies and in management
consulting with extensive experience in workforce recruitment, development
and labor relations. She most recently served as Director of Human Resources
for Stuart Dean Co., Inc., an international architectural restoration
services firm. As Vice President of Human Resources, she is responsible for
organizational training and development, benefits and compensation,
employment policies and procedures, and human resource information systems
for RailWorks Corporation and its subsidiaries.

Gene Cellini

Senior Vice President, Tax
Gene Cellini has served the corporation and its subsidiaries for more than 20 years, providing exemplary leadership of the Tax Department. In 1985 he joined Comstock Group, Inc, formerly the parent company of L.K. Comstock & Company, which is now a RailWorks subsidiary. He was named Vice President of Tax in 1998 and is responsible for managing the tax obligations of RailWorks and its subsidiaries, including tax transactions, federal, state and local tax filings, audits, hearings and litigation. Prior to joining the company, he served as a manager for Big 8 accounting firm Deloitte Haskins and Sells.

Ben D'Alessandro
President, RailWorks Transit, Inc.
Executive Vice President, L.K. Comstock & Company, Inc.


Ben D'Alessandro came to RailWorks Corporation in 1999 with extensive management and rail-transit operating experience. In 2000, he was named executive vice president of L.K. Comstock & Company. He also serves as president of RailWorks Transit, Inc. Prior to joining RailWorks, Mr. D'Alessandro served in top management positions at F &V Metro Contracting and Impulse Enterprises, both established contractors serving the rail-transit industry. He also held a management position at Arthur Anderson.

Michael Mermelstein
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Michael Mermelstein joined RailWorks in 2004 as Vice President and Controller and has played a pivotal role in strengthening the company's financial stability and performance. He has a demonstrated track record of enhancing financial reporting and controls throughout his 15-year career. Prior to joining RailWorks, he served as Vice President of Finance for Reach, a joint venture between PCCW of Hong Kong and Telstra of Australia, and has served as Vice President and Controller for several other companies in the telecom and software industries.

Steven G. Milewicz
Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Steven Milewicz came to RailWorks in late 2007 with more than 20 years of legal and management experience in construction, development and related fields. He has served as both in-house and outside counsel and held management positions in corporate, investment banking and entrepreneurial organizations. He previously served as general counsel for Atlantic Hoisting and Scaffolding, a New York-based hoisting and scaffolding specialty contractor. He is responsible for all legal matters related to acquiring and executing business for RailWorks and its subsidiaries, including human resources, contracts and licensing and other related commercial affairs.  Milewicz earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Brandeis University, his juris doctor degree from Hofstra University School of Law, and his master's degree in business administration in finance from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

Kean Smith
Vice President, Business Development

Kean Smith came to RailWorks in 2005 with 33 years of business development and operating experience in both the transit and railroad industries. He previously worked for Mass. Electric Construction Company, where he served as the firm’s manager of business development. Prior to that, he worked for some of the leading names in the industry, including Union Switch & Signal, Inc., General Railway Signal Corporation, and Canadian Pacific Railway. Throughout his career, he has established a proven track record of building and strengthening his employers' business pipeline.

Joseph Spirito, ARM
Vice President, Risk Management

Joseph Spirito joined RailWorks in 2006 with more then 25 years of experience in the insurance and construction industries. Using expertise gained working for both contractors and insurance providers, he is leading the newly formed Risk Management department, with responsibility for insurance and related coverage, claims management, safety and regulatory compliance, asset management and disaster recovery functions. He most recently served as Director of Risk Management for Railroad Construction Company's rail and other subsidiary operations, and also served as Director of Loss Control for EMCOR Group, Inc.'s domestic and international business units.
