Description
Whitewater Valley Railroad is an operating museum that has preserved a historic branch line. RailWorks upgraded the crossing where the line connects with State Road 44 in conjunction with road expansion and improvements.
Scope
RailWorks removed the existing railroading signal system and furnished the design and installation of two 40-foot cantilevers with a new warning system. The new system features cantilevers with LED lights, grade crossing prediction for train detection, and added traffic signals pre-emption circuitry.
Unique features
RailWorks sequenced its work with other contractors working on highway improvements on State Road 44.
