The installation of NARSTCO steel ties greatly improved performance and saved millions of dollars for Chesapeake & Delaware LLC’s Dover & Delaware River Railroad.
For its Bridge Clearance Project along the Dover & Delaware River Railroad near Phillipsburg, N.J., the customer chose NARSTCO’s M10 Steel Ties. The end result was an increased clearance of about 6 inches – without undercutting – and allowed for Plate F Boxcars to safely navigate this line to and from the nearby Class 1 network. The installation of NARSTCO ties solved a decades-old problem for the operator and has saved the shortline close to $3 million.
In all, the shortline has more than 2,000 NARSTCO Steel Ties throughout their network.
