Project Description

RailWorks completed the first phase of grade crossing rehabilitation for the light rail system in Cleveland, Ohio.

Project Scope

During seven weekend outages, crews removed and rebuilt eight crossings on the light rail system, including the two pictured near the South Woodland station, in Cleveland/Shaker Heights, Ohio.  RailWorks served as general contractor on the project, valued at over $2 million, upgrading full-depth rubber style crossings with a StarTrack® concrete panel design to facilitate smoother travel and crossing longevity. Their work, which they finished in July 2012, involved 615 track feet in the crossings as well as 800 track feet of approach track.
