With its work to enhance transportation at four U.S. coal mining operations, RailWorks helped Foresight Management LLC ramp up coal operations across the United States.

The Prairie State Energy Campus (PSEC) is a coal-fired generating plant and adjacent underground coal mine about 50 miles southeast of downtown St. Louis.

Ameren UE, Missouri’s largest electrical utility, opened a “West Facing Rail Turnout” at its plant outside of Labadie, MO, about 35 miles west of St. Louis. The rail spurs allows unit trains to deliver low-sulfur western coal to the 2,389-megawatt plant in a timely, more efficient manner than it had been able to before.

RailWorks constructed the rail expansion project at the Oak Creek Power Plant, south of Milwaukee, WI, as a subcontractor to Bechtel Power Corporation.

RailWorks constructed a new lead and loop track to service the new Pond Creek coal mine.

For nearly two years, RailWorks Track Services worked at four Foresight Management LLC facilities. Extensive work on rail transportation projects totaled in excess of $9 million.
