Employees Stand Down for Safety

May 6-10 is designated as Construction Safety Week in the U.S. and Canada, and RailWorks is among about 70 construction companies that are participating.

“Safety Week is about reinforcing a safety culture,” says Greg Coleman, corporate director of Health, Safety & Environmental for RailWorks. “It’s a point in time when, as an industry and as a company, we consider the significance of safety. It’s recognizing that while safety is intrinsic to the act of construction, we will pause to dedicate a week to its criticality.”

This year’s theme is Safe By Choice. Over the five days, offices or job sites will carry out the theme and observe the week by recognizing positive achievements as well as reviewing key safety topics. Luncheons or barbecues, special audits or inspections, and similar activities will occur.
