PNR RailWorks performed track, signals and communications and civil work at the Exhibition GO station west of downtown Toronto. The $6 million project took place over four weekends in late 2019 and included the largest single weekend of track renewal ever undertaken on the Metrolinx network.
Over four 50-hour work blocks, PNR RailWorks crews removed and replaced 7,100 feet of existing track with new concrete tie track. In addition to track work, the team upgraded the signals and communications system, installing bonding wires and testing and commissioning newly re-configured plants. Civil work included ditching of the Fort York plant, creating a drainage pond and removing and re-installing fencing.
