RailWorks Regional Manager Bill Lenhart Named NRC’s Field Employee of the Year
RailWorks Regional Manager Bill Lenhart has been named “Field Employee of the Year” by the National Railroad Construction Maintenance Association (NRC). He was awarded at the annual NRC Conference & Exhibition in Phoenix, Ariz., on Jan. 8.
The Field Employee of the Year award recognizes an employee who exhibits exemplary performance and dedication in the field. In his 44 years in the rail industry — 21 with RailWorks — Lenhart has upheld the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.
As Regional Manager, Lenhart is responsible for overseeing a range of complex projects for RailWorks in the western United States. Lenhart is known for his mentorship in the field and has touched the lives of thousands of employees, customers, and industry suppliers.
“I entered the industry with zero experience and wondering if the career move was right for me,” said RailWorks General Manager Dave Luond. “From our first interaction, Bill started teaching me the process, industry, and company. He’s spent countless hours mentoring me and it’s been an absolute privilege to work alongside Bill the last 14 years.”
Lenhart’s extensive rail knowledge helps him find solutions to every problem on a project and he goes above and beyond to ensure successful project completion, even if it means working all night and assisting laborers and operators when manpower resources are low. Lenhart truly upholds RailWorks’ Core Values of Safety, Customer Intimacy, Employee Engagement, Project Execution, and Integrity to the highest standards.
