After a tornado dismantled original repairs, RailWorks returned to Hurricane Creek Bridge in Holt, Ala., to lay deck and rail along the structure.

Eleven months after completing two days of repairs on what was referred to as the Southeast’s oldest and longest railroad bridge, RailWorks was called back to the same site after the April 2011 Tuscaloosa, Ala., tornado destroyed the steel girder superstructure. Working sometimes 165 feet above ground, the crew replaced decking and laid rail along the 500-foot span, originally built in 1913, over Hurricane Creek.
