RailWorks employees constructed a double-loop track in Epping, N.D., at a crude oil transload facility for Rangeland Energy.

Completed in April 2012, this $70-miilion transload facility northeast of Williston has the capacity to load 120-car unit trains with crude oil on BNSF’s main line. The RailWorks’ crew built a double-loop track consisting of 24,000 feet of track and 18 turnouts.

This facility is among multiple transload plants RailWorks has constructed in North Dakota associated with the Bakken Shale oil reserves. The facilities enable oil companies to transport crude oil extracted from shale by rail to refineries and other users.
