RailWorks built a 23,000-foot loop track in a Waste Control Specialists storage and disposal facility in Andrews County in West Texas.
Workers installed jointed-rail loop track and five turnouts. The $3 million project added to efficiency for the Permian Basin Railways, which delivers waste to the facility. The new track accommodates more than 100 cars, eliminating any need for switching cars.
Unique Features
The 1,300-acre site accepts rail cars of low-level radioactive debris dredged from sites across the country.
